Great Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

THE GREAT EASTER EGG HUNT

A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Easter is coming up so we’re asking residents to participate in the GREAT EASTER EGG HUNT.

Although we are under a “shelter at home” mandate, we are encouraged to get out and move, while being mindful of social distancing. So, with that in mind….

Calling all Residents to join in the fun and “hide” an Egg or Egg Basket in your yard from April 1st – April 12th (Easter).  Anytime you can get your egg or egg basket out during that window, will be just fine.  As you stroll through the neighborhood see how many eggs you can see. You’ll be counting eggs, not taking them. 🙂 (Eggs should be “hidden” so that they can be seen from the sidewalk.) Let’s fill our blocks with “hidden eggs” and create a fun activity for kids of all ages.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN
THREE EASY STEPS

STEP ONE:  MAKE A LARGE EASTER EGG (Okay, you don’t have to make one, but it’s fun to see the creativity.)
(*Big Eggs can be made of paper mache: INSTRUCTIONS HERE  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7X2JDEtEKaAANY type of egg is fine. You can visit https://picfairvillage.com/photos/  to see pictures of the creative eggs that were “hidden” on people’s yards when we did this last. This is a great opportunity for an art project with your kids…or for yourself.
One Egg per yard is just fine.

STEP TWO:  “HIDE”  EGG IN YOUR FRONT YARD
BETWEEN APRIL 1st and APRIL 12th-
Make sure it’s visible from the sidewalk.

STEP THREE: GO ON A WALK AND START COUNTING THOSE EGGS
Please be respectful of people’s property and don’t go on their front yard.
Last time we did this we had a digital Easter Egg Hunt the Saturday before Easter.  People took pictures of the eggs they found.   Residents only had 2 hours to hunt for as many eggs as they could.  We had a  “Hunt Headquarters”  where people would check in and show us all the Easter Eggs they found (took pictures of). It was loads of fun and neighbors had an opportunity to meet each other.  In total we had 86 households participate.

Although we won’t have an official hunt, let’s see if we can top the number of households from last time.

This is a simple way to unite the neighborhood and remind each other that we’re all in this together.

Time to get out the glue gun, glitter, markers or whatever inspires you. Have fun and thanks for participating!
