10:20 Liz Carlin:  1647 S. Genesee. All permits have expired.  Building Safety is making an effort to contact owners. Once they locate property owner they will schedule a City Attorney Meeting.  If they don’t respond the City Attorney will file criminal charges.

Council President is speaking with DOT seeking a 4-Way Stop at Carmona and Pickford.

1600 Block Curson: Trees and Hedges taking up parkway area. Neighbor feels unsafe when pulling out of driveway.

Empty Shopping Carts: If a cart is full of trash they won’t pick it up. If you need it picked up you need to empty and then call 3-1-1

1746 S. Spaulding: Being used for Auto Repair. LADBS is going to re-inspect this week.

Picfair Village Autumn Mixer: CD 10 supplying 200 drinks. 200 pieces of Fried Chicken and rentals. Will let you know if Herb Wesson will attend.  We are supporting it.

Wilshire Open House: 12-4 Sunday September 9th.  It’s important to support your Police Department. Classic LAPD Cars will be there.

September 9th Ethiopian Fest. 12-8. Street Closure starts at 9am.  This celebrates the Ethiopian New Year.

September is Earthquake Preparedness Month. 3 classes left at Battalion 18

Cat Mutilations: Stanley/Saturn, Ogden/Saturn, Airdrome and Spaulding. We have hawks, owls, possums, raccoons. The cats are drained of blood with their innards removed.  Animal Services handles Coyote sightings.  Will invite Lieutenant Bata from Animal Services to next meeting.

Treasurer Report Diane : 1016.  $263 from Garage Sale. Still going to collect $20 from 2 families. That would bring total to $303. We have Paypal Account where you can donate that way.  Make sure you are on email list to stay informed about what goes on in neighborhood.

General Announcements:

 Garage Sales:  People had sales and they said they just were happening to have a garage sale.

Mixer/Garage Sale/Pumpkin Race/Signs Out: Volunteer sheet distributed. Volunteers are needed.

Mixer 5-7pm. Meet your neighbors. Members of CD10, Habitat for Humanity, Pico NC, Captain Davis, Officer Greene. Meet and greet.  Prizes given for newest and oldest resident. Cake cutting at 6pm.  Spaulding and Stanley on Airdrome.

Claudia Bayard from PICO NC:  (Asset to neighborhood. She helped us get funds for the mixer).

Tom Bradley Center is assisting Vets and Rental Assistance. DPS for Tom Bradley Center that helps families in our community. 1st and 3rd Thursday we give out food.  We are feeding 950 families. 1pm to 3pm.  Sam Simon is the one doing the food.  We need volunteers.

Listing of Poll Workers: Starting pay $15 to $18 and hour. Temporary

Volunteers of America

Book was handed out that offers guidance for Vets. The DD14 can be picked up that shows evidence you were in the military.  Congresswoman Karen Bass and Holly Mitchell State Assemblywoman support Tom Bradley Center.
